Hsi Lai Temple

I visited Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights, CA, this past weekend with two colleagues, one of whom was giving a paper as part of a Dharma Day celebration there.
Hsi Lai Temple, a traditional Chinese mountain temple in the Fo Guang Shan tradition of Taiwan, was founded by Grand Master Hsing Yun in 1988. It has a reputation as a standout among the many beautiful temples and centers in Buddhist America. (As a first time visitor, I must say that I was quite impressed by its size and elaborateness.)
I took pictures with a Kodak Fun Saver Single Use Camera and have shared some of the better images below.
A Buddha statue (decorations for the celebration are visible in the background).
The Arhat Garden, which features representations of the assembly of eighteen arhats at Vulture Peak Mountain.
The “Path to Enlightenment” and the Bodhisattva Shrine.
The “Founder Statue,” which depicts Grand Master Hsing Yun.
A statue outside the front gate and beside the parking lot.

Very cool!
