The Shock Doctrine

by Danny Fisher

I’ve just watched the new short film by Naomi Klein, Alfonso Cuarón, and Jonás Cuarón entitled The Shock Doctrine. It’s really quite a powerful and extraordinary example of activist cinema–I recommend it. You can watch the entire film below or at the official website.

Based on Klein’s new book The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, the film is an official selection at the Venice and Toronto International Film Festivals.

Klein has previously authored No Logo, and Oscar-nominee Alfonso Cuarón is best known as the filmmaker behind such works as Y Tu Mamá También, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and last year’s critically lauded Children of Men.
