The Washington Post: Kathleen Parker on "Pastor Rick’s Test"

This courtesy of our good pal Phil: In today’s Washington Post, Kathleen Parker has an essential piece about Pastor Rick Warren’s recent faith and politics forum with senators and presidential hopefuls Barack Obama (D-IL) and John McCain (R-AZ). She rightly (I think) calls the event “supremely wrong” and “un-American,” concluding that “higher principles [are] compromised every time we pretend we’re not applying a religious test when we’re really applying a religious test.” She also closes the piece with a great insight from Thomas Jefferson:

It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
