Bailout Call Report
by Danny Fisher
This via TrueMajority.org: Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121, and ask for your state’s senators. Tell them, “I am a TrueMajority member calling to urge the Senator to oppose the Bush corporate bailout. It’s time that the Government support ordinary Americans instead of bailing out their corporate cronies.” Or you can say something of your design. Then tell TrueMajority who you called, what you said, and how it went by following this link.

As someone with real money in banks and money market accounts, why would I do this? The whole point of this is to keep us from a repeat of the Great Depression and it may actually be necessary.
You present a call to action but no real justification of why someone should follow it.
I touched on this in an earlier post, in which I reposted a list of levelheaded and reasonable demands presented by CREDO Action. It’s not clear that Bush’s bailout includes any of those.
For more justification, check out Senator Bernie Sanders, Wiliam Greider, Thomas Ferguson & Robert Johnson, Nicholas Von Hoffman–all in the pages of The Nation.
