A Note
by Danny Fisher
I received an email today from someone who was upset that I had removed comments left last night at a post from 2007. This was done because I felt that the language used in some of the comments was unacceptable, and I will not host that here. I reserve the right to delete comments that use racist/anti-Semitic/homophobic language, as well as those that are slanderous and libelous. I had hoped I wouldn’t ever have to clarify that, but I will be making that clearer in the “Disclaimer” section of the right-hand column right now.

Nobody should ever ask you why you don’t let him or her speak here. You don’t need to give to anybody any explanations. This is your blog and your home. Someone who enters another one’s home, should respect the rules of the house. This is my opinion.
I respect your dedication and work.
Joshu, thank you for saying that. I think you’re quite right, and I really appreciate your blog/home analogy.
A bow to you.
Hi Danny,
I’ve had a couple of encounters with people who feel my unwillingness to post their (usually noxious, certainly offensive) opinions at my blog amounts to censorship.
As Josho observes this is your blog. I come here to read what you have to say. If you had no comments section, that would be fine. As you do, I’m grateful they’re moderated. I’ve seen a couple of blogs that do not and which have become poisonous places…
Many bows,
James
You’re blog is your property, not the public’s, and you have a responsibility to maintain it as you see best, just like your home, as Josho astutely noted. Anyone who would challenge how you choose to do that is being rude, plus it would not be out of line, IMO, to conclude that such a person doesn’t keep up his or her own “home” very well.
I’m assuming you saw this?
Love your blog, and I appreciate the work your doing.
