Inspired by your post, with its excellent choices, I too will slap a high five for Obama.
(1) First, I will kipe The Corporation for my list. It is definitely a movie I would want Barack to see and think about.
(2) Since Obama is moving from campaigning to administrating mode, I’ll pass on Bulworth and Nashville, and choose The Great McGinty, instead. It’s the story of a Chicago politician’s rise to power. Also, it’s a film by Preston Sturges, one of my faves.
(3) Because times are tough, I would hope that Obama might see The Grapes of Wrath. Hey, Barack, don’t stop caring about the little guy!
(4) Since Obama will be Top Dog over one of the world’s most awesome and troubling beauracracies, I would want him to see Akira Kurosawa’s Ikiru. It is a funny and magical film.
(5) Because I worry about justice in America and rendition and gitmo and more, I would like Barack to see my favorite Al Pachino film, …And Justice for All. Madness, madness, madness.
Interesting post. I think those 5 movies are good though.
