What’s so weird is that all the media stories are calling this guy “the reincarnation of Buddha” which certainly throws a few doctrinal red flags up! Are the Nepalese actually saying that about this kid or are Western reporters just being lazy and confused? Does anybody know the “real” story about this in Nepal??
You know, I had the same thought myself. It seems like reporters are notoriously bad about this. (I remember when Larry King had His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his show and introduced HIM as “the reincarnation of the Buddha.”)
"Rev. Danny Fisher calls himself 'just a Buddhist minister trying to benefit beings.' Clearly, it’s something he does well."
- Shambhala Sun
"The redoubtable Danny Fisher... What can you say? Does he sleep? Is his blog a dharmic device designed to deflate the egos of other Buddhist bloggers? A feast for hungry minds... Drop by, you won’t leave unenlightened."
- Tricycle: The Buddhist Review
"[Danny's] blog is beautiful."
- Roshi Joan Halifax
"Rev. Danny Fisher represents the best of mindful new media--the future of the resounding drum of Dharma, practice, arts & culture."
- Waylon Lewis, elephantjournal.com
Still one of my faves, Cameron's films post-1991 notwithstanding... Critics' Picks: 'Aliens' - nytimes.com/video http://youtu.be/Y-Uqhn63AhI1 day ago
