URGENT ACTION: Tell Congress to Support Equal Pay for Women IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS!

Please take a few seconds to send the following message from CREDO Action to your Congresspersons:

The Supreme Court’s decision in the Ledbetter case blocks almost all legal avenues to remedy gender-based pay discrimination in the workplace. Women across America are counting on Congress to provide those avenues – you can help right a monumental injustice by voting in favor of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. As your constituent, I demand that you stand up for the women of our district; please end pay discrimination based on gender.

The New York Times’ Stanley Fish Names Buddhist Favorite Groundhog Day One of the "10 Best American Movies"

Our friend in the Buddhoblogosphere Tom Armstrong points out that New York Times columnist Stanley Fish has named Harold Ramis’ 1993 comedy Groundhog Day, “a favorite of a great many Buddhists,” as one the “10 Best American Movies”. Tom promises more reflections about the movie in the future, but has some great things to say about it now. In the comments, he writes:

You might be agog at how simple and silly it seems, but hang in there: On its rickity foundation is built a temple of fine marble.

Amen to that, Tom!

I’ve previously blogged about the film and its Buddhist connections here.
