Just a Buddhist Minister Trying to Benefit Beings

More Terrific Podcast Episodes

A few days back, I mentioned that I’m catching up on some old podcasts. I normally listen to podcasts on my daily walk, but there’s always a few that fall through the cracks and don’t get listened to for a while. I made another delightful discovery this week courtesy of Ken McLeod’s Unfettered Mind podcast. Back in July 2008, McLeod recorded a really remarkable three-hour conversation with Bill Porter (AKA – “Red Pine”) about the Heart Sutra. Both men have produced popular translations of the work–perhaps the single most important of the Prajñāpāramitā texts of Mahāyāna Buddhism–and this conversation is a rare and rich opportunity to hear them reflect together in some depth on it. Check out their conversation here.

Also well worth a listen is the Buddhist Geeks‘ conversation with my old professor Reggie Ray. Among other things, they discuss meditation, the body, tradition and change, and the archetype of the forest yogi. Part one of the conversation was posted this week–part two is on the way.
