Just a Buddhist Minister Trying to Benefit Beings

His Holiness Penor Rinpoche Hospitalized

Digital Tibetan Buddhist Altar alerts us to the news that His Holiness Kyabjé Drubwang Pema Norbu Rinpoche (Penor Rinpoche) has been hospitalized. Tenpa posts a note from Namdroling Monastery that reads in part:

We wish to inform you that His Holiness Penor Rinpoche has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Columbia Asia Hospital in Bangalore on March 24, at 3 AM. Health care arrangements for His Holiness are under the constant supervision of a Western-trained physician, and the condition of His Holiness has somewhat stabilized.

On the first day of the Second Month (27 March, 2009), many of the highest Nyingmapa lamas will join the Namdroling sangha to continue with beneficial practices determined by divination. Among those who have indicated they will attend are Dzogchen Rinpoche, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, Minling Khenchen Rinpoche, Ralu Rinpoche, and Ringu Tulku Rinpoche.

Tell the London G20 Summit to Put People First

This from Avaaz.org:

The world is in economic meltdown, and leaders are meeting at the crucial G20 London Summit next week to decide what to do. It’s time to tell them they can’t continue with business as usual — they have to fix the system and build a more sustainable future.

Demand the G20 put people first — sign the emergency petition below and our worldwide call will be carried to the streets by tens of thousands of people marching through central London, wearing green hard hats and carrying banners and flags to symbolise green jobs and a sustainable recovery. Then, next week, we’ll deliver the petition directly to summit officials and leaders.

To leaders at the G20 London Summit:
We call on you to agree a global rescue package that puts people first — to stimulate, regulate and fundamentally reform the global economy, and to invest in a sustainable green recovery.

Sign the petition here.
