The International Buddhist Film Festival Comes to London Next Month

This from the great Phil Ryan over at the Tricycle Editors’ Blog: The Guardian reports on sixth annual International Buddhist Film Festival, which will be held next month in London.

The six-year-old International Buddhist Film Festival arrives in London for the first time next month after appearances at cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Singapore and Mexico City. For 10 days, the Barbican will play host to more than 40 films, from the clearly Buddhist to some without such an obvious connection.

A favorite of mine, Jim Jarmusch’s Dead Man, is one of the films on the bill this year.

SEAArch-The Southeast Asian Archaeology Newsblog points us to reports that talks between Thailand and Cambodia about the disputed region around Preah Vihear are progressing, but that Cambodia has blamed Thailand for the latest flare-up. They also post about reports that the temple itself has sustained “significant damage” in the latest round of fighting.
