These stories on the subject of Burma today:

  • Reuters and the Associated Press are both reporting that the junta has allowed doctors to visit the ailing Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, imprisoned Nobel Peace laureate and Prime Minister-elect of Burma.
  • This decision comes after pressure from the U.S. Department of State, and a press release from the U.S. Campaign for Burma.
  • Reuters also has a story today comparing recent disaster responses in China and Burma.
  • The Huffington Post‘s Russ Wellen writes that the new film Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country is “filmmaking at its incendiary best.”
