Just a Buddhist Minister Trying to Benefit Beings

Ravenna Michalsen Interviewed on Interfaith Voices This Sunday

My dear old friend, the brilliant dharma musician Ravenna Michalsen, whom I profiled for the Spring 2009 issue of Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, will be interviewed this Sunday on the wonderful, wonderful, wonderful radio program Interfaith Voices. Visit their website for showtimes and/or to download the podcast version of the program when it appears. Ravenna will perform songs and undoubtedly share some of the pearls of wisdom that are perpetually rolling off of her tongue.

The Washington Post’s Editors Say Engage with Burma…But Not Just with the Generals

The Washington Post‘s editors today sound off on U.S. engagement with Burma. Here’s a taste:

…By all means, the administration should engage with Burma’s leaders. But it should insist on the ability to engage with all of them — including those now behind bars. A good start would be to insist on the release of [Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's personal physician] Tin Myo Win and on freedom for his courageous patient.
