R.I.P. John Hughes
The filmmaker John Hughes has passed away. In his early films in particular, he captured something of teenage life that was so accurate it both tickled the funny bone and touched a nerve. As a teenager growing up in the midwest (where most of his films were set), it was comforting to discover his work. And if you love the city of Chicago the way some of us do, his obvious affection for the place brought a big damn smile to the lips…
