A Gift of Dharma for 10.24.09

Today’s quote is from His Eminence the 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche, Pema Tönyö Nyinje.
One of the foremost authorities in the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, the Tai Situpas have historically played an important role in the identification of the Karmapas. Indeed, His Eminence the 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche was instrumental in the identification of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje. In addition, His Eminence himself served as regent for the Kagyu Order before the identification.
It is also noteworthy, I think, that Kagyu Tibetan Buddhists regard the Tai Situpas as emanations of the “future Buddha” Maitreya.
