Some UWest Announcements
by Danny Fisher
Here’s some news from work here at University of the West:
- First, three of our Master of Divinity (M.Div.) students who are currently Buddhist chaplain candidates in the U.S. military–Somya Malasri, Tommy Nguyen, and Chris Mohr–will be leading a memorial service this Friday for victims of last week’s tragic shooting rampage at Fort Hood. The service, which will be short (15-20 minutes), will begin promptly at NOON, this FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13th, at the WATER FOUNTAIN between the AD and ED buildings on campus.
- A note to current students: International Buddhist Education Foundation Scholarship applications are due this Monday, November 16th. For those interested in attending UWest, take a look at info about the scholarship–which provides help to many of our students, including some “full-rides.”
- Lastly, I’m super-excited to announce that we’re in the process of trying to schedule the great Buddhist photographer Don Farber for a visit to campus! Stay tuned for more information!
