A Gift of Dharma for 11.15.09
Today’s quote comes to us from Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche, the young incarnation of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
Born in Nepal on June 30,1993, Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche was identified by Trulshik Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche’s “most senior and accomplished disciple.” He is the son of the 3rd Chogyur Dechen Lingpa, Tsikey Chogling Rinpoche Mingyur Dewai Dorje, and Dechen Paldron, and the grandson of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche.
After his confirmation as the tulku of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Trulshik Rinpoche “performed the ceremony of offering a name (Ugyen Tenzin Jigme Lhundrup), and robes to the young tulku.” He was publicly enthroned at Nepal’s Shechen Tennyi Dargyeling Monastery in 1996.
He is currently being educated at a shedra in Bhutan under the tutelage of Rabjam Rinpoche. His official biography reports that “Yangsi Rinpoche is a diligent student. He is compassionate, direct, and understanding.”
Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche is currently scheduled to visit the United States in 2010. For more information, visit http://khyentsevisit2010.org.
