Rev. Danny Fisher

Just a Buddhist Minister Trying to Benefit Beings

A Gift of Dharma for 4.4.10

Seeing as today is the anniversary of his death, it’s only fitting that today’s quote should be from the Vidyādhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche (1939-1987), whom I first quoted and wrote a little bio for here.  This is the quote posted at his Facebook page this weekend:

The process of freeing yourself from arrogance and cutting off your habitual tendencies is a very drastic measure, but it is necessary in order to help others in this world. You should take pride in yourself and uplift yourself. Your should regard yourself as an honest and genuine warrior.

“What a Day in the Religious and Secular World…”

This observation today from my pal and fellow chaplain Katherine Walker:

What a day in the religious and secular world. Bless you, friends. Passover continues, Easter is here. (Death of small self into ground of being?) Today is the Parinirvana of my root guru, Trungpa Rinpoche, and the anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination.

What a day indeed.
